Tuesday 3 January 2012

Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan have launched their eight new Book Club titles and announced even more exclusive additional content to make their 2012 Book Clubs a unique experience for readers, it was announced today.

The entire list includes:

Before I Go to Sleep by S.J.Watson;

Midwinter Sacrifice by Mons Kallentoft;

My Dear I Wanted to Tell You by Louisa Young;

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes;

The Paris Wife by Paula McLain;

Yesterday’s Sun by Amanda Brooke;

A Cold Season by Alison Littlewood;

The Story of Beautiful Girl by Rachel Simon.

The Spring Book Club, exclusive to WHSmith, not only consists of eight new fantastic titles, but even more added content than ever before – all at your fingertips, at the back of each book. Reading group content with suggested questions for discussions, pitched by Richard and Judy themselves, as well as inside information on the authors’ inspirations, their favourite books and an insight into their life stories, are just a few examples of the exclusive content.

And, back for 2012 is the Richard and Judy Book Club podcast. Having proved hugely popular with more than 250,000 downloads on iTunes to date, readers can once again tune in to hear further insights into each author, with their exclusive interviews with Richard and Judy.

Each title also has customised digital content, offering the reader the ability to either scan the QR code to immediately download the podcast of their chosen title, or download the first chapter of any one of the additional seven Spring Book Club titles for free, via a text service.

Richard Madeley said: “We have an incredibly loyal following and it’s our New Year’s resolution to be able to offer more extra content for readers - not only as a thank you but also to encourage people to understand more and be able to discuss the books in more depth.”

Judy continued: “Reading a book for some can be quite an individual experience and to be able to discuss the content, the motivations of the author, the twists and turns of the story and the characters with other people, whether in face-to-face book clubs or virtually, is for me what makes our Book Club so unique.”

All titles are available in WHSmith stores across the country now with the podcasts available alongside each title every fortnight on iTunes.
