Would I ever buy one?

Of course not! Well, actually... I just have.

It’s hanging off the grill handle in our kitchen Reader, I couldn’t resist it.

It was in the window of a gift shop in the Cornish fishing village of Polperro and I instantly realised why: because it perfectly summed up the instinctive resentment of a smaller, weaker party towards its bigger, more powerful neighbour next door.

In this case we’re not talking Celtic Cornwall’s ancient resentment of the Anglo-Saxons across the Tamar but Canada’s long sulk over the United States.
