Richard And Judy congratulate Bestseller winner Tracy Rees

Thursday 9 April 2015

Richard and Judy have been celebrating with Tracy Rees, the winner of their inaugural Richard and Judy Search for a Bestseller competition as she launches her debut novel, Amy Snow.

Tracy, 43, from Swansea won the competition which saw thousands of entries submitted and a shortlist of seven. The competition prize included a publishing deal worth £50,000 from Quercus for the rights to sell her novel around the world.

Amy Snow, a family mystery set in the 19th Century is available from today in nationwide bookstores, including WHSmith.

Richard and Judy, along with experts at the book’s publisher Quercus, WH Smith and literary agency Furniss Lawton, oversaw the Search for a Bestseller selection process.

But it was Tracy’s story of Amy Snow that stole the hearts of Richard, Judy and the judges. The story centres around Amy, a young Victorian woman who follows a chain of coded letters to uncover a secret about a beloved childhood companion, now dead. Gripping and pacey, the novel is an emotional roller coaster of a read: a riddle that delivers a new revelation with each letter Amy uncovers.

“Amy Snow is a fantastic read – utterly spell-binding,” said Judy. “Although the competition was tough, we fell in love with the heroine Amy and Tracy’s incredible story-telling. We are delighted to be supporting Tracy today and cannot recommend the book enough.”

Richard added: “Our congratulations to Tracy on publication day! Judy and I know how exhilarating it is to become a published author and the hard work it takes to get there. We wish her all the very best of luck in her future career as a novelist.”
