The Family Upstairs

Jewell Lisa

In a large house in London's fashionable Chelsea, a baby is awake in her cot. Well-fed and cared for, she is happily waiting for someone to pick her up. In the kitchen lie three decomposing corpses. Close to them is a hastily scrawled note. They've been dead for several days. Who has been looking after the baby? And where did they go? Two entangled families. A house with the darkest of secrets.

This twisty and engrossing history of two families entangled in a house of dark secrets is an excellent psychological mystery. Libby inherits a fabulous house in Chelsea on her 25th birthday. She knows she’s adopted, but nothing at all about her birth family. What she discovers is a dark atmospheric thread leading to a cult, murder and family betrayal. Compulsive, creepy, and menacing – a great read.
