Richard awarded a Doctor Of Letters for his contribution to television and media

Richard proudly accepted his award from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. He was awarded a Doctor of Letters for his contribution to entertainment, reading, television and the media.

The ceremony was held at the Corn Exchange in Cambridge where Richard was joined not only by his wife Judy but his children Chloe and Jack.

At the beginning of Richard’s career he studied journalism at Harlow College although he admitted he was not a qualified journalist as he didn’t take his final proficiency exams at Harlow.

The university celebrated the new £6 million journalism centre at Harlow College as part of a partnership by presenting Richard with a Doctorate. Richard spoke of how honoured he was to receive his award alongside 255 Anglia Ruskin students.
